Beauty and S-x Work: An Interview with Porn Star Janice Griffith

This is the first interview of a series I’m doing exploring how people across different industries use beauty to do their jobs. The first few will focus on women who choose to work in the oldest profession around, but it is not an in-depth series on the intricacies and complications of the sex work industry: it is a series of interviews across careers that use beauty, and the interviewees span race, class, and gender. This is the first and only interviewee that I’ve announced beforehand. The others will remain unannounced. I am open to suggestions on who - or what profession - to interview for this series, too, just drop a comment.

The below interview does explicitly discuss sex and as such you should proceed in a way that makes sense for you and your work environment.

Janice Griffith is an award-winning porn star and a long-time supporter of my own work. When I organized a mutual aid fundraiser for immigration legal defense funds and bail funds for BLM protestors using beauty product donations some years ago now, sex workers secured free entry into the sale through coordination with Janice - we have organized for collective liberation together, in other words.
