Beauty notes from the past few weeks

Hello friends! It’s been a few weeks, and I have been busy still obsessing over nail art with childlike glee. I should probably get a fake hand to practice on so I don’t ruin my own nails; I keep changing my manicures every 2 days but I’m using a method that doesn’t ruin my nailbeds so it seems to be fine for now. But it’s kind of fun to imagine myself curled up in a ball on the couch, leisurely painting a mannequin’s hand instead of doomscrolling social media…no?

Anyway! I wrote Allure’s latest cover story, a profile of the multi-hyphenate Rina Sawayama. Love the photos, too:

I’ve wanted to write a cover story - beauty focused - for years but the opportunities I’ve had so far never panned out because of scheduling, so I’m glad this one did. I love when work is an easy yes. Spending time bouncing around Rina’s hotel room peering at her glam team’s trunks of stuff is my ideal way to be On Duty.
