I read that the first line of the book says, “When I tell you beauty is a monster, I need you to know it’s my favorite kind.” I’ve been thinking about that first line. It stays with me because it holds both love and warning at once. There’s something so honest—and unsettling—about naming beauty’s power and its teeth. I’m looking forward to seeing how this book holds those contradictions. Thank you for writing this.
